Moreau, New York Speed Traps
Southbound Exit going to 1-87 from Rt 9 (Exit 17)
This is a new one. My dad saw a cop at the bottom of the exit! He was flagging people who were going over 30 on the ramp to merge onto the highway.
Moreau Elementary School on Bluebird road
The stretch of road between Moreau Elementary school, on Bluebird, and Old Fort edward road. 30 mile an hour zone. Very actively patrolled.
Interstate 87 near Exit Number 17
U-Turn just South of exit 17, NYS Troopers run Laser/Lidar monitoring mostly Northbound traffic approaching the exit, trees and brush hide the patrol until it is too late.
Additionally, Troopers known to hide under the exit 17 overpass, Radar used for both North and Southbound traffic.
Harrison Avenue near Sisson Road
State Troopers sit in a little pull-off just past the intersection with Sisson Road. Road is not properly marked with signs according to DOT laws. Nearest speed limit sign for east bound drivers is back at village/town line. Drivers entering Harrison Avenue Ext. from any side road beyond that sign have no indication that this section of road, which is sparsely populated and straight as an arrow for more than a half-mile, is a 30 mph speed zone. They catch them like flies here.
