Monroe County Sheriff’s Dept uses Winding Rd (a small residential street off French Rd) to target motorists in both directions. Using instant on radar to enforce the 30 MPH speed limit, all shifts. This is an easy way to write a lot of citations very quickly because the street could easily sustain higher limits. They are targeting 40 and over, which is well below the average of most cars using this road.

When travelling east on Rt. 31, about one mile east of Rt. 96 intersection is a bridge crossing Erie Canal. After crossing the bridge, there is a road on the immediate left which runs parallel to the bridge for a ways. Two police usually sit here at night running radar for people coming down off bridge.

There is just enough room to the left of the fast lane, in the median, to hide behind the center bridge abutment. The only thing you will see is the radar horn sticking out.
