Plainview, New York Speed Traps
the whole town
They added speed cams surrounding Plainview, Long Island. There is one on Woodbury Road, South Oyster Bay Road and Manetto Hill Road. All different speeds in same town. Poor signage and warnings. 7 am to 6 pm.
135 Southbound after Northern State
Just at the exit ramp for Wallace Ave they sit up the grass hill, after the curve in the road. By the time you see them it is too late – stay below 60 – the entire 135 is a speed trap
Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway near Exit Number 9
hidden on center meridian, can be at any time
Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway near Exit Number Plainview Road
Most of the Seaford Oyster Bay Expressway is a speed trap. I see many police cars in different locations. Most frequently is on the left side right before the Plainview Road Exit and also on the right side a ways before Powell Road Exit and the Plainview road exits.
Eastbound LIE Service Road, just east of Sunnyside Blvd.
Road starts at top of hill area at Sunnyside Blvd. Then heading east, there is entrance ramp to LIE 495, but the service road curves to the right. The police sit either at the bottom on the shoulder, or at the top of the next hill (Commercial Street) with radar gun in hand. Posted speed limit is 30MPH in this area.
