Queens, New York Speed Traps
Grand Central Pkwy East after 111st
this is where the grand central divides into the grand central pkwy eastlong island and the van wyck that takes you to shea stadiumflushing(after the 111st exit). if you stay on the grand central, as you go around the slight bend, under the bridge to your right sometimes theres a marked car waiting there. only saw it once, but thought i’d share with you guys.
westbound Grand Central, between exits 23 and 21
The Highway Patrol loves to use their unmarked cars around this area. I drive past here every night around midnight, and they’re usually there Tuesday-Thursday.
There’s a decline right before the exit to the Cross Island Pkwy., and they’re usually parked along the right hand side, so watch your speed!
Clearview Expressway
They hide behind exit ramps and in construction camps. 111th precinct cops, most of the time. All the kids used to hang out by francis lewis boulevard, but now that now one hangs out there anymore, these cops gotta find something to do to keep their jobs.. Also, watch out for MTA cops on throgs neck bridge. If they try to pull you over towards the bottom of the bridge on queens-bound side, just keep driving until you get off the bridge, then pull over. They have no authority to do anything on the clearview. just a tip. =)
Horace Harding Expy (west bound) and College Point Blvd
Camera at light, this is right after the exit ramp off the LIE(495) at 678/college point exit. if you are trying to run a yellow and head for the south bound 678 or just get on LIE/GCP at College Point entrance and notice 3 flashes in your rear view, expect $50 ticket in your mail in 3-6 weeks.
GCP West bound
Highway 3 sits not on the highway, but on the strip next to the highway where the Cross Island Pkwy exits to get to the GCP. He sits where the old Alley Park exit was and nails driver on this light traffic strip.
