Tuxedo, New York Speed Traps
Just about any part of rt 17 and 17a in the median
I have seen just about every time i drive through this town that the local tuxedo cops will get you at any opportunity they can. Sometimes it seems as if they have nothing better to do than to stop people for some reason or another. comes, so save yourself some money and be very weary of these "hunrgy" officers. There are also state troopers around when the end of the month comes so that’s a double threat. I noticed that the tuxedo cops use K-band guns and you can detect them. State troopers have the Ka-Band.
RT 17A approaching RT 17
When I got popped, I was headed eastbound. The overzealous enforcers like to sit in the center median about 2 miles after the departure from Sterling Forest Ski area behind a group of trees just far enough back to nab you when you pass. The spot is on a little downhill run, so to speak so be careful to maintain that 55mph through there.
Route 210 Approach to Sterling Forest Mountain
As road curves approaching mountain just after turn for long meadow road, officer sits on far side lane of opposing traffic just after the U turn with lights off, especially popular in winter months.
