Warwick, New York Speed Traps
Outside the hamlet of Pine Island on 1A
The town of Pine Island has a 30 mph speed limit. Coming out of the hamlet of Pine Island on 1A (towards Route 94), it seems like the speed limit should be 50 or 55 mph. If you do not wait until you actually bypass the 55 mph sign (don’t gear up to get ready for it), you will be in the 30 mph zone. I just got clocked at 49 mph as I was getting ready for the speed change. Further down the road and it is marked it goes back to 45 mph. Keep alert on this road.
On West Street Near County Rt 1 at Fire House Parking Lot
This speed trap is tricky to see if drivers are coming from the Warwick High School, Middle School, or St. Stephens Elementary School toward the Village of Warwick. Easier to see if motorists are driving away from the Village south toward the school grounds. The patrol car is backed up against trees in the front of the fire house, but on the south side of the lot.
