West Falls, New York Speed Traps

Town of Aurora cop will sit in the front of the John Deere sign at night with there lights off. (At night) will nail you going west towards Orchard Park just as you come over the hill. Or coming east towards the binking light in West Falls. cars usually pick up speed as your driving down Ellicott cause the road goes down hill gradually and you forget to slow down and at night you can’t see the cop cars untill your just even with them. You can see the reflection of the decal but by that time its too late. I want to say the state troopers sit here too. I don’t see them all the time but when I do it’s at night.

The Town of Aurora cops will sit about 2 car lengths in from rt. 240. They’ll get you going north on 240. They’re easier to spot traveling south on 240.

East Aurora Police sit in the little white church on Mill Rd between Grover Rd. and West Falls Rd. They can get you either coming up the hill from Rt. 240 or down the hill from East Aurora. Speed limit is 35 mph in the area.

Most victims of this trap on Rt 240 are heading to/from the ski areas south of Buffalo. Route 240 is 55mph but quickly drops to 35mph through the dinky hamlet of West Falls. East Aurora police regularly sit along 240 through West Falls, usually in the evening.
