Whitesboro, New York Speed Traps
Clinton St, heading down Hart’s Hill into Whitesboro
Whitesboro PD likes to sit just inside the village limits where the speed limit changes. It’s easy to accelerate going down the hill and not notice. Beware!
Oriskany Boulevard near US Highway NYS Thruway overpass
Officers sit deep in parking lots of closed businesses far from Boulevard clocking unsuspecting motorists. This occurs nearly every night. It is easy to exceed posted speeds as there is no commercial activity after 8pm. This section is just a thoroughfare at night.
Route 69 by the Whitesboro Middle School/Whitestown Plaza.
Speed limit drops from 40 to 25 and the law enforcement is very watchful in this area.
Intersection of Rt 291 and Oriskany Blvd (Rt 69)
This is a favorite area for the local police to sit and wait for speeders. They sit on the side at the entrance to Rt 291 watching cars coming down Rt 291 or moving along 69 either way. Ever time I drive by that way, usually once or twice a day, the police officers are sitting there, or have already pulled someone over 75% of the time I see them there. This enforcement is heaviest in the AM and PM rush hours, but I have seen them there any time of the day.
