Charlotte, North Carolina Speed Traps
WT Harris Boulevard near Between Old Statesville Road and Mallard Creek Road
This area is highly patrolled by traffic cops. I lived in an apartment just off of this strip of road for a year. i can’t remember a day going by that I didn’t see someone pulled over. Most days, I have seen more than one pulled over. The speed limit is pretty reasonable for the area, however, the area just feel safe from police presence for some reason. Please follow the speed limit here.
Carmel Road near Country Day School
CMPD officer sits in driveway of Country Day School, just before the dry cleaners. Difficult to see due to slight curve and trees.
Interstate 77-N
There is a new exit that is being added after Harris Blvd. There is a spot that a NCST car is always parked at. 90% of the time, the car has its lights on, but no one is in there. But be extremely cautious anyways, because when that ST is active, they bring a lot of ST out there. I have seen up to 30 people getting pulled over because he is checking radar and then sending it to another ST around the turn.
Billy Graham Parkway near Tyvola Road
Both marked cars and motorcycles. Westbound – sit either on the right shoulder just after the first exit for Tyvola (slightly obscured by a hill and signs) or on the left shoulder next to the bridge support. Eastbound – sit behind the bridge support on the right; unable to see until you are passing by.
Interstate 485 Northbound near Mint hill exits
The officers on this stretch of highway use overpasses and high brush to conceal themselves. They are not there to deter, but to write tickets.
