New Bern, North Carolina Speed Traps
Glenburnie Road – MLK Blvd. to US 70 (I-42)
The speed limit has been reduced from 45mph to 35mph. Watch your speed early mornings and evenings when traffic is light and NBPD is on this stretch of highway.
George St – Queen St to National Ave
New Bern’s newest Speed trap. The city and the Mayor that thinks he’s a traffic engineer have reduced the speed limit from 35mph to 25mph on the widest street downtown. The speed limit signage is terrible, I suspect on purpose, and because the Police Station is on the same street, they are making bank!
Be careful at Queen and George, because the town is polluted with four-three-way stops, many ignore the legal two-way-stop there.
Old Airport Rd
Off of Taberna Circle. Recently reduced speed limit after widening the road (!). Cops exploiting this every day now.
Pine Tree Drive
Pine Tree Drive from Amhurst Blvd (also a speed trap) to Dr. MLK, Jr. Blvd.
NBPD hides in the ditch with a handheld RADAR near Laura Lane. He sends one of his buddys to give you the citation.
Broad Street 1st to Queen Streets
New Bern’s newest Speed Trap along Broad Street from 1st Street to Queen Street. What was 35mph has been reduced to 25! Yes a full 10mph reduction. Like New Bern doesn’t have enough Speed Traps already. Clearly they are doing everything possible to keep the Massive Police Force busy making money.
