New Bern, North Carolina Speed Traps
Broad Street – Downtown New Bern (17/55)
25 mile per hour speed limit on a road that could be traveled at 35mph safely, New Bern City Police will DEFINITELY pull you over for going as little as 5mph over the speed limit. It decreases from 35 to 25 at the 5 points area where Queen St intersects and continues at 25mph all the way to the end. Since the New Bern Police Department is visible down Queen St from that intersection, there are police frequently ready to ticket you.
Washington St & Dillahunt St
A slow down campaign is done here twice maybe up to four times a year, you drive around the corner then BANG its a police checkpoint, they park their cars on Dillahunt St so you can’t see them, many people up to hundreds in the last couple of years have been ticketed and even arrested ( driving without license) here, be careful especially around holidays and school opening in August.
