Where Rt. 70 changes from 70 MPH to 55 MPH. The traps are set right after the speedlimit change. There is a trap almost on a daily basis. This catches most out of town travelers driving from Rt. 95 to the Crystal Coast area.
US Highway 70 near Glenburnie Road
East bound US 70 at New Bern City limits drops from 70mph to 55. Most times officer sits in median other side Dr. Martin Luther King Blvd.(GPS position givin) (US 17 south exit)which is the next exit after Glenburnie Rd., behind a cedar tree. Sutton Road near Elizabeth Street
Officers will sit on side streets off of Sutton as well as just patroling street. The speed limit is 35 but being a four lane street in a main part of town it is traveled by majority at a higher speed. There are no speed limit signs in the main part just when you turn off Neuse Blvd and Martin Luther King Ave. This is a high ticket area because people assume it is 45 because of traffice volume, majority speed and location.
