Raleigh, North Carolina Speed Traps
Fox Rd from inside I-540 to Fox Den Subdivision
Not one, but two schools on this stretch. Zones around each are neither consistent nor clearly marked, so it’s hard to tell where the zones begin/end, what speed limit is in effect, and when. RPD like to sit at the entrance to Fox Den, across the street from Fox Rd Elementary, and outside the entrance to the other school (Franklin Academy?) with radar and fish.
Anderson Ave (between Six Forks & Glenwood Ave)
Early AM & Rush Hour PM, cops are parked on Anderson Ave,waiting for someone to come down ave speeding.30 MPH zone, don’t even think about going 32mph,you will get pulled over & get a ticket.
McDowell St. @ MLK Blvd.
Officers are setting up under the MLK Blvd. Bridge on McDowell St.. Drivers traveling into downtown Raleigh, are traveling on a downgrade as they approach the bridge. As you approach the downgrade the speed limit drops to 35mph. Drivers are having to use their brakes in order to keep their speed near 35mph.
Atlantic Ave & Hodges St
Raleigh PD just set up radar at Atlantic Ave & Hodges St where posted speed limit drops down to 35 mph.
Wycliff Road (off Lake Boone Trail)
The speed limit has recently been lowered from 35 mph to an unreasonable 25 mph. City cops sit on this road almost all day and constantly write tickets to unsuspecting motorists.
