Airlie Road

Wilmington, North CarolinaJun 28, 20040 Comments

Road is curvy with abrupt speed limit changes. Cops hide everywhere. Also they hide in marina parking lot to watch the only stop sign on Airlie Road which has been a yield sign for the last 50 years. Beware and slow down!

Carolina Beach Road near Coddington Elementary

Wilmington, North CarolinaJun 09, 20040 Comments

The news reported that officers are posing as golfers at Echo Farms across from Coddington Elementary School. They sit in golf carts and asess speeds with radar then radio to the waiting officer a hundred yards or so down. This is a school zone for a year round school. It is always heavily enforced usually without undercover golfers just marked and unmarked cars.

Market Street near Port City Java

Wilmington, North CarolinaMar 08, 20040 Comments

As you’re driving down Market St. towards Downtown, you will pass a Port City Java on the right. There is a hill and other buildings preventing you from seeing the cop that’s about to pull you over. They are usually there during the day, I haven’t seen them at night but they might still lurk.

market st

ok…these guys are serious. they wait in the same place all the time starting from around 6pm-2 am. they are looking for people speeding to get down town, and they are looking for people drinking and driving from and to down town. they usually hang around the side of market street near motel 6. also the speed changes from 45 to 35. and what happens is that people don’t see a sign for along time(which was set up intentionally) and the driver assumes that the speed limit is still 45, and so they do 50 mph, and a cop catches them on radar doing a 50 in a 35 mph zone. happens a lot.
