Winston Salem, North Carolina Speed Traps
State Highway 52 North
US Highway 52 North from Davidson County to Forsyth County
Winston-Salem PD sits on the side of the road approaching the 55 mph speed change entering Forsysth County. As you go around the slight bend in the road, Winston-Salem PD officer is shooting radar backwards at on coming cars. Motorist cannot see around the bend in the road and are advised to slow to check for an officer. Also with the speed changing from 65 to 55 mph they get alot of people at this point on the road.
This speed trap is usually run early in the morning on weekends, Sundays and Saturday. Although I have observed it on other week days.
Also watch as you crest the hill, officers rotate between the bend in the road and the crest of the hill behind the bridge, both are spots that are not immediately visible.
Silas Creek Parkway near beside forsyth tech in army reserve parking lot
The officer sits back in the parking lot on Silas Creek right across the street from DMV. Always waiting for someone to come down that hill. Be safe slow down if u can down the hill.
State Highway 66 near Don’s BBQ
Sherrif’s officers love to sit between the BBQ place and car dealership. Beware when going South. It’s right after a fairly blind curve (trees and the car dealerships hide the well). Sometimes they can clock you right off the curve, but most times they are hidden fairly well until it’s too late.
Buena Vista Street near Stratford Road
A cop is sitting in someones lawn off street at night with his lights off, and is especially looking for those who look like teenage drivers from a nearby high school. The owner lets him because he is mad at the kids. The cop also patrols right around Buena Vista. The cop is usually there about 7-9 am and 3-12 pm. Speed limit is 35 mph. May taper off soon, since it just started, but is ridiculous.
Business I-40 at U.S. 52
Winston-Salem Police sit in this area with marked patrol cars, especially on Saturday and Sunday mornings. This area gets very congested at rush hour, so take your time and be safe.
