Truro, Nova Scotia Speed Traps
Park Street, Truro side of railway tracks
As you leave Farham Road in Bible Hill going west towards Truro via Park Street, you go over a rise to cross the Canadian National railway tracks,
and start down the other side … look out for Sgt. Renfrew of the RCMP … between 23:00 and 01:00 hours …
lower truro rd at bottom of hill
they sit at the bottom of the hill on lower truro rd about two times a day. its not far from the town limits and you never see them on the county side of the line. same car – dodgecharger
Giant Tiger on Robie
Every once and a while, especially late at night, RCMP will sit in the Giant Tiger parking lot with their lights off radaring and watching out for speeders on Robie Street by the Irving Gas Station.
Willow Street heading Towards Millbrook
Since the Truro town police have only jurisdiction within town limits, they like to sit at the edge of town on Willow Street across from the Crosley factory in the parking lot next to the dye pond where Willow Street meets Glenwood Drive.
Another place they like to hide is at the old fish bait store in Hollywood just before you get to Millbrook. Since everyone is used to driving a bit over the limit out that way, like 60 or 65 kms, they can get you since its a 50 km limit.
Millbrook OverPass on exit 13 A Bridge and Median
When you are coming from Halifax and make that last right turn on the 102 coming up to Millbrook/Truro, when you can see the black water tower after taking the last turn into the long straight, slow down. The RCMP frequently sit on the bridge at exit 13A radaring the North Bound traffic heading into Truro. It is next to impossible to see the car because the roof is barely visible.
There is a median before and after this point. They have been know to sit in the median before the bridge at night (110 km zone) and at the median just before Truro where the concrete barrier begins (100 km zone).
