Between Lisbon and Columbiana on Rt. 164
Leaving Lisbon headed north towards Columbiana on 164, shortly outside of town the road takes you around a couple of bends – and after the second bend there are two spots where the police and state patrol like to hide. One is a dirt lane leading into a field and the other is a small pull-off area – both are and very close to each other. They pull far back enough into the brush and trees so that you can’t see them sticking out ’til you’re almost beside them. The clincher is that section of 164 has suddenly changed to a 45 mph speed limit through there, and most cars still think it’s 55 b/c nothing changed on the road to indicate the speed would be lowered through that stretch.
Rte 11 Entire length Columbiana County
From the rte 7/11 intersection until the Mahoning County line, the highway patrol is fixated on this stretch of highway. Must be the world’s most dangerous. It drops from 65mph to 55mph for about a 5 mile section. This is their favorite prowling place.
