North Kingsville, Ohio Speed Traps
Rt 20/193
Goes from 55mph down to 35mph on Rt 20 eastbound. This area is a well known local speed trap and the village of North Kingsville runs a mayors court. If you get a ticket here there is no mercy, just pay pay pay.
In North Kingsville. 50 mph to 35 mph in short a distance.
The police car is waiting for you. They have a few squad cars for this little village. maybe three. When I was stopped two other cars were also stopped. So the whole police force was out making (stealing) money for their town from citizens. I spoke with quite a few people in both Ashtabule and Conneaut who had been caught. I spent a long weekend in Conneaut but took a room in Ashtabula and thus traveled through North Kingsville for the WWII reenactment last August and had plenty of time to talk to people who had been burned by the police . The police have signs for 35mph through their village of North Kingsville; the trick is that the speed is 50 mph on both sides of their town. So those unaware leaving Ashtabula or Conneaut going 50 Mph and then its suddenly 35 MPH when you enter North Kingsville. The ticket was $148.
1/4 mile East and west of intersection of Rte 20 & HWY 193
They hide in a school parking lot (east) of the intersection and in a private parking lot (west) of the intersection. You get a questionable posted warning to drop speed from 50 to 35 and they wait right at the 35mph sign about a 100 yards after the warning. Got stung for $125.00. An absolutely egregious trap.
Middle Road, west of SR 193
Speed limit is 25 mph. Many feel this is a "quicker" route to Ashtabula Township (or to North Kingsville FROM Ashtabula Twp.) to avoid traffic lights. With the recent improvements, there have been more posted officers along this roadway. ESPECIALLY in the dirt part on the south side by the bend! BEWARE!
US Highway 20 near enter town from west
Driving in to N. Kingsville from Ashtabula Ohio on Route 20 at the 55 mph sign posted , half mile west of center of town, speed drops to 35 mph immediately… makes it difficult to slow down and the cop lives right there at the 35 mph sign…
