If you go only one mile ove speed limit, watch out. A lot of people here call it the boss hog community of our neck of the woods.

Asher is only a few blocks long and the police officer sits on the south side of town and on the west side of the road. He will stop you (as he did me) for speeding even if you are NOT speeding. I work for law enforcement and couldn’t believe this city would stoop to giving false tickets. I was actually on my way to work at the time and my "officers" couldn’t believe he would do this.

Two police officers patrol the highway, usually on Hwy 177. The town supposedky has 419 residents according to the last census. Patrolling occurs within a mile north and south of the intersection. Multiple tickets are possible if they can catch someone speeding and possibly not coming to a full stop or going slightly past the stop sign before stopping.

City of Asher (pop 450) has found a new revenue for its city coffers: a speed trap on HW 177. Speed limit drops quickly from 65 to 45, so watch the signs closely.
