Burlington, Ontario Speed Traps
Fairview (between Walkers and Applby)
Dead man’s straightaway. They park in the Rona/White Rose plaza and stand with a handheld unit by the roadside. Usually Eastbound.
New street, near appleby line
Officer parks his car in a nearby school or church parking lot. He stands behind the wooden telephone polls along the road outside the school.
Maple Avenue
Particularly the last week of the month. They pick them off left & right.
Uppermiddle, between Brant St. and Guelph Line
This stretch of road is long and straight, however, as you cross the 407 bridge, there is a Fire Station. The last time I passed, there were police cars in the driveway, pulling over cars doing 10 over. The speed limit should be 60kmh, but its 50kmh. It also has the flashing school zone sign, which changes it to a 40 zone, during certain times of the day. They watch this like hawks. But mainly looking for Eastbound traffic.
Upper Middle, between Brant and Guelph
Between Brant and Guelph Line on Upper Middle there is a fire station that is at an intersection. In the mornings cops sit at this station behind a bus stop and pull people over coming down the straight away heading east.
