Hamilton, Ontario Speed Traps
Hwy 6 just north of Hwy 403.
Drivers exit from Hwy 403, or are coming down a steep hill going south. This is a four lane highway with medians. Yes it is not your normal 400 series, but the 80 km limit is too low.
What’s worse is this is normally patrolled by the OPP, yet the Hamilton – Wentworth police will set up traps here with as many as five vehicles. I can only think that this trap is to meet a quota or they have very little crime to investigate in this region.
Main Street East. Gage Park entrance
especially effective when rising sun is blinding motorists heading east from Gage Ave.
Lift Bridge
Having commuted into Burlington via the Lift Bridge daily, I always noticed about 3-4 days a week, there will be a speed trap located just after the bridge heading into Burlington, and another parked at the curve going into Eastport in the after-work rush.
Highway # 6/Twenty Road
Police sit near twenty road and pick drivers. Speed drops from 80 km to 60 km. A child was killed there a couple years ago and they have been regularly enforcing this area. I don’t disagree with it but it is a regular location, so please slow down.
main st west , eastbound between Locke and Queen
hide in private drives and empty lots snaring motorists picking up speed eastbound from Dundurn.
