Kitchener, Ontario Speed Traps
King Street near Hwy #8 King St at 401 Overpass
Police hide the cruisers on the southwest side of overpass on Hwy #8 out of sight. They hide behind the 401 Overpass bridge with a handheld radar gun and there is no loophole. Once tagged they pull you off to the side out of sight of oncoming traffic and continue to stop vehicles.
#8 Expressway near Weber Cut Off Street
The on ramp comeing from where King st. and Weber St. meet, getting onto highway 8, there is a brand new street light there that the O.P.P. have been sitting behind. It is far enough out of your line of sight while comeing up the highway that you won’t notice them. The Speedlimit just before there changes from 100kmh to 80kmh. Keep an eye on your speed while comeing up to the cut off.
Bridgeport Avenue near Lancaster Street
The police regularly park on Leander Ave looking for speeders who are travelling eastbound. Leander is the first street, just past the expressway underpass. Speed limit is 50 kmph.
Fairway Road near Manitou Drive
This radar is alway set up just before you get to the Esso station on the corner of Fairway and Manitou. They are there at least 3 times a month. They tuck in on the road just before the gas station and you can’t see them until they have already got you.
Blockline Road near Laurentian Drive
This spot used to be used more often a few months ago but i still see them every now and then. A cruiser would be parked on that short divided part of Laurentian drive in between Erinbrook Dr and Blockline Rd monitoring traffic going towards Strasburg Rd. This is a 50km/h road which is very dumb since it is a wide open road with no driveways and barely any pedestrian traffic.
