Tomken Road near Dundas South under bridge Street

Mississauga, OntarioAug 20, 20070 Comments

Just under the bridge usually an officer sits where you cannot see him until it is too late. Just watch your speed down and under that hill in both directions

Cawthra Road near Dundas Bridge

Mississauga, OntarioAug 15, 20070 Comments

Going south on Cawthra, cops usually hide in the church just before Bloor Street and also, as you drive a little more, they hide again on the street right after the Dundas on ramp. Beware when going downhill under that bridge!

Eglinton Ave. West Avenue near Barbertown Road

Mississauga, OntarioJul 30, 20070 Comments

Barbertown Road is just west of Creditview on Eglinton Ave. West. When travelling westard from Creditview on Eglinton, you go down a hill under an underpass which is relatively hilly and easy to pick up speed. The posted speed limit is 60 k/hour (about 36 mph). Radar is usually set up on the corner but slightly hidden behind the bus shelter. Coming from the west travelling eastward, they are on the opposite corner. Again travelling east over the Credit river and slightly downhill, it’s easy to pick up speed. Radar can be there at anytime but definitely during morning or afternoon rush hour.

Derry Road near Airport Road

Mississauga, OntarioJun 07, 20070 Comments

Officer hides car behind fence at a now closed plant entrance on south side of divided Derry Road. From Dixie Rd. going east speed limit goes from 70 to 60 then 50km/hr. Derry is full of tractor trailers and is generally always busy; you can hardly ever see the speed signs. The officer stands on the road and from watching them they don’t even appear to look at any radar, just pull anyone over because no-one ever does 50 along here; tried it and got honked at. The most blatant tax grab I have ever seen in Canada or the U.S. and I’ve been all over!

State Highway 409 near Exit Number Terminal 1

Mississauga, OntarioJun 01, 20070 Comments

As you are on the 409, and are exiting to Terminal 1 towards the airport, the speed limit will drop from 80 to 60, and then 50. The 50 speed limit sign will be on the inside of the left downward-sloping curve, and as soon as the road straightens out, on the far left is a large paved run-off area, where there will be 1 or more police cruisers with radar guns aimed at you. If you do anything over 10 over they will give you a free speech about speeding, switching lanes, and not checking blindspots, along with a nice ticket.

The officer that stopped me was very kind and dropped my ticket from 34 over to 15 over. He even showed me the gun that stated that I was doing 84km/h.

Watch your speed and don’t let the government steal your money with these shady and unproven practices!
