Scarborough, Ontario Speed Traps
Pharmacy Ave. South and Sheppard Intersection
7-9 AM Mon-Friday. No Going south on Pharmacy through intersection. Officers camp out behind the bushes on the east side of the south strip mall or the back driveway on the west side near south of Sheppard the park. Multiple crusiers any given day $200.00 ticket / plus speed trap going from 60 to 50 km. if you run the yellow light.
Brimley Rd and 401
Northbound on Brimley just after the 401 overpass, speed drops to 50, pigs sty at the center. They see you before you see them. $$$$$$
South of 401, Port Union Road
Not sure where the trap is located, but often there is a black patrol car with someone pulled over, on the west side of Port Union Road, south of 401. Motorists come through the lights on the ramp over the highway, and are caught as they drive south down the hill. The trap must be tucked into one of the side streets which run west off Port Union (new streets added in the past few years due to subdivision construction). The posted speed limit is 60 kmh – people often do 80 and 90 coming down that hill.
Craigton Drive
Craigton Drive runs from Victoria Park Ave to Pharmacy Ave. At the stop
sign there is a unmarked car every day. This is an established fishing hole,
be careful on the right turn. There is no Southbound street so people
slip through the stop sign without a full stop. Very expensive ticket.
Burn Hill Road
This is an established Radar trap. Radar is at North West corner behind
the telephone poll. Speed limit drops from 60KM to 50KM in front of
Warden Ave. school. Drivers coming Southbound on Warden are
pulled onto Burn Side Road. I often see 6 or 7 cars at a time lined up.
