St. Catharines, Ontario Speed Traps
QEW Buffalo-bound at Seventh Street
OPP absolutely love the buffalo-bound lanes here as they sit under the overpass and do radar every day. I come through here several times a month and see them either doing radar or on a traffic stop a good 60% of the time. Do not speed once you hit the 16-mile creek bridge which is just before this trap.
North side of parking lot at Parnall – Geneva/Linwell
Sometimes a marked car, but often a ghost car sitting in the walkway where the students walk to the school. Clocking vehicles southbound.
Welland Canal Parkway between Rockwood Ave. and Lock #3
The police regularly wait on the east side of the road, sometimes of the dirt access road, invisible to cars coming around the curve. This entire stretch from Lock #3 to Glendale is a goldmine.
On Glendridge just south of Glendale
Police pick off motorists coming down the escarpment hill from Brock University. The hill makes cars go faster and cops usually sit in the church parking lot to the right. Particularly active around the start of the academic year.
Berryman Ave.
Berryman is a rough street. Police are always parked behind the Book Depot far away from the road. They are usually out of sight waiting for speeders. Also there are always marked and unmarked waiting for people to make the illegal left turns from Queenston to Berryman and Berryman to Queenston (between 7 and 9am and between 3 and 5pm).
