Toronto, Ontario Speed Traps
Eglinton Ave East btw Don Mills and Leslie
Driving west on Eglinton Ave, as you approach Leslie, there are often numerous cruisers with laser’s set up on tripods. This speed trap is difficult to detect as it is just past an underpass. The speed limit is 60 km/hr, but Eglinto is 4 lanes wide at this point and it is very easy to speed.
Avenue Road-South of St.Clair Ave W
Officer stands at Avenue Rd & Edmund St intersection-East Side of Avenue. Waiting for speeders coming up the Avenue Road hill towards St.Clair. He then walks out an gives you the point like the peice of shiite he is.
Cosburn Rd west of Coxwell
Police park just past the jr.high school on the north side of Cosburn and stand on the corner w/ the radar gun – right by a bus stop. Very hard to see as there are always people standing around waiting for bus. (Sometimes they park one street over, and in summer in the school pkg lot). Speed limit is set at 40km (due to schools) but many drive over 60. Usu. there 1-2x per week.
North and South bound traffic on Bayview between York Mills Rd. and Lawerence / Eglinton
Radar is usually hidden at the south side end of the bridge and under the Lawrence St. overpass.
Radar is on a tripod at the edge of the bridge so its hard to see going southbound and the cruisers are hidden behind the bridge.
Lake Shore Blvd, eastbound at Ontario Place.
As you are busy looking at the sights of Ontario Place you don’t notice the speed is 50kph. Why should you, it’s is a six lane road with a pedestrian fence? Either your going to get nailed or the guy flying because he just got past all the tourists that are going 30kph will.
