Whitby, Ontario Speed Traps
Garden St Between Manning and Dundas (Hwy 2)
Coming southbound on this stretch is where most people get it. There is a railway underpass. Officer sits in a school parking lot where he is protected by trees so northbound traffic cant see him, and blocked by the bridge so that southbound traffic cannot see him until after coming up from under the bridge. As soon as you get to the middle of the hill going up under the bridge, it becomes a 40kph school zone, down from a 50 which should be a 60 but everyone does 70-80 anyway. I have driven by there several times in some evenings and they will have someone every time. Just about everyone I know has had it there.
Hwy. 2 at White Oaks
Eastbound posted limit drops from 80km/h to 50km/h well in advance of residential area while going over a slight rise. Enforcement sits on White Oaks (south side of Hwy. 2) with radar watching traffic cresting the rise.
Cochrane Street, just south of Thickson over the hill
I have personally been caught here. It’s a 50km zone, and it’s very easy to go over that going over the hill there. So, be careful, they are there very frequently.
Brock St.North aka Hwy 12, heading north, at railway underpass
Brock Street North dips under a railway overpass in the block 800 region. There are no entrances onto the road in this area cruisers, frequently more tha one are sitting just past the bridge on the north side.
