Beaverton, Oregon Speed Traps
Cop waits at the bottom of the hill
Cop waits at the bottom of the hill going west at the corner of Canyon Rd and Canyon Dr. The speed changes from 40 to 35 on the downhill.
Bany Road Between 170th and 185th
Wide, straight road that is only 25 MPH. They park the motorcycle at the top of the hill near 180th.
Left turn into Albertson’s frm SW Greenway Blvd near SW Hall
This is clearly a fee generating ticket trap. There is a posted sign w/flashing yellow light that left turns are not permitted between 3PM-7PM Monday-Friday. I was caught by this trap because I had never heard of such a rule and thought the flashing yellow light was road work. The officers sit easily hid in the Albertson’s parking lot just waiting to catch violators. No warning was given, but the officer explained that I was eligible for traffic school and could have the violation removed from my record. What he did not explain was the $40 registration fee for traffic school and the $200 court fee if I passed the test. This is not a speed trap, but definitely a fee generating trap.
