Dallas, Oregon Speed Traps
Anywhere within the city limits
It’s a small town but if you speed at all you will get a ticket. They add 5 to 10 mph to make sure it’s expensive. if you ask to see the radar, they will tell you don’t have a right to see it.
Monmouth Cut-off (Clow Corner Road)
As you leave Dallas on the Monmouth Cut-off, roughly 0.6 miles on the left is the old Tyco building (formerly Praegitzer’s). There is a large stone sign that a patrol car can sit behind to partially hide the car when you are traveling SE on this road. This is a favorite spot for the Dallas City Police to sit with a radar gun.
Highway 22 to Salem
Between Dallas and Salem is Highway 22. This 15 mile stretch of road is patrolled by both the Polk County Police and the Oregon State Police. The road switches between 50 Mph and 55 Mph. Police are notorious along this stretch of road. Since there are two lanes in each directions the most common places to get stopped are when you are passing. Watch out for the intersection of HWY 99 at Rickreall. Other areas to watch out for are Eola Restaurant, the Old Salem Dallas-HWY road and when you are coming out of the West Salem headed west toward Dallas. This road has been heavily populated with law enforcement to try and make the road safer.
