Lakeview, Oregon Speed Traps
North of town
North of town (one mile). The 55 limit rapidly lowers to 50, 45, and 35 when south bound towards town. Around the corner adjacent to the cemetary, where the 35 begins, state troopers like to sit with radar. The 45 area south of town is no more but 55 again. Out of state plates, especially Idaho, are targeted for traffic stops. Trucks remain to be favorites for ticketing. Just pass the 35, the limit lowers to 25 all through town.
S. of town limits to 5 mi. N. of New Pine Creek
Gone for 5 years now! Speed now 55 from S. Town limits to CA line.
Hwy 395 South from S. town limits to about 5 miles from New Pine Creek
10 mile section of rural Hwy 395 dropped from 55 to 45 mph for no apparent reason other than to trap unwary drivers by angering them into lack of patience and caution after several miles of deserted road and no apparent reason for the stupid 45 mph limit. Identical sections north of town are 55 mph. Not regularly manned due to tight budgets and low state police staffing but tickets are stiff if you get caught. They LOVE truckers!
