Belfast, Pennsylvania Speed Traps

Saw this last night after 5 at rush hour traffic. A new stop signs were put up coming from 115 toward the 33 on ramp. Before you only had to stop in one direction now it is three way stop. Local police is sitting where cars park at the off ramp waiting to catch someone buzzing the stop sign. He is far enough away you don’t see him till it it is too late. Be sure to do complete stop there.

Since the bridge reopened over Bushkill Creek on Henry Road, through traffic between Jacobsburg Rd and State Highway 33 / Sullivan Trail haas resumed. The neighborhood of Henry Rd does not like the fast moving drivers using this route. A cop has been frequenting the Jacobsburg Park parking lot on Henry Rd to interrupt any travelers klicking along over the 35 mph limit.

Police wait in parking lot of Hartman’s Two on Sullivan Trail for people to speed by in either direction, then follow. It is mostly in the AM during the week.

There are several places they sit, usually in the middle just over a hump in the road caused by a bridge. Watch the regular traffic speed, I believe they’re looking for the 75+ speeds in the 65.
