Derry, Pennsylvania Speed Traps
State Route 217 near Old Pizza House at Northern exit from Derry
They sit in the parking lot of the Old Pizza House at the Northern exit from Derry, which is hidden from people coming from the North. They use a stopwatch and time you across two lines about 50 yards apart. It is very inaccurate, but you have to prove it. They charge not only the speeding fine, but also their "costs".
State Highway 217 near State Highway 217
Cops sit in parking lot of a small pizza place. They watch the painted lines on the road. It is right where the speed changes from 55 to 30 and you are entering town. So as you are leaving the 55 mph area and don’t hit the brakes they got you. And with VASCAR the thumb on the button is always faster than you are. And don’t mention SPEED TRAP if you try to fight the ticket. The local Magistrate takes the heat over that statement.
