Harborcreek, Pennsylvania Speed Traps
Buffalo Road/Nagle Road Corridor
Pennsylvania State Police and Lawrence Park police are both known to sit and hide in various places along Buffalo and Nagle Roads in Harborcreek Township.
The LPPD sits on the Nagle Road bridge on the north side, in the cutoff that leads to the Iroquois ball fields. This primarily occurs at night. The cop sits blacked out with his lights off, where drivers can’t see him until they’re right on him. The bridge itself is technically within Lawrence Park Township, but the cop will follow drivers entering into Harborcreek on either Buffalo Road or eastbound on Iroquois Avenue to try to pull them over. SPEED LIMIT ON NAGLE IS 35.
Lawrence Park Police will also sit in the clearing between Applebee’s and the Fourmile Creek Bridge (in Harborcreek Township), and “pace” drivers. The speed limit drops sharply from 40 within Harborcreek Township to 25 as soon as you enter Wesleyville borough after crossing the bridge by the Dollar Tree. The Lawrence Park cop will follow drivers well into Wesleyville, sometimes all the way to Country Fair or even to the Erie city line, in an attempt to pull them over.
PSP will often hide in the parking lot at Eastway Lanes or in one of the shopping plazas nearby. The posted speed limit, as mentioned above, in that area is 40.
US 20 at "The Viaduct" (near the Fiddle Inn)
Going around the bend on 20 in either direction. Cop sits in a driveway at the midway point (near the "Harborcreek" mural on the train bridge). Once you see him, it’s too late. You’re done. Pay up.
1000 Block of Bartlett Rd
Cops sit in the parking lot of Our Lady of Mercy Church. Depending on where in the parking lot they are sitting, they can easily be obscured from your view, no matter whether you are going north or south
East Lake Road near Waterfall Restaurant
State Police cruiser will park in the lot of the old Moose Club, just East of the Waterfall Restaurant. Posted limit is 45 MPH.
US Highway RT 20 near State Highway PA 955
Troopers will sit just after the village of Harborcreek (east of) at the fire department by their sign. They are there on a regular basis and seem to give you 6-10 over 55. I think that they are catching people going east into the village where the speed drops from 55 to 35 well before the village and see who they get coasting in.
