Horsham, Pennsylvania Speed Traps
Davis Grove Road near Kieth Valley Road
The officer sits on a small parking lot for a pumping station behind shrubbery. Cars traveling East on Davisville Rd. are more vulnerable than Westbound traffic. The speed limit is posted at 25 MPH but there are only a 1/2 dozen homes along that stretch of roadway and it appears quite rural. This is probably the single biggest moneymaker for the township.
Keith Valley Road near Drexelbrook Company
Usually a PA state trooper works with township police to operate this trap. The officer parks in a driveway about 50 feet from Keith Valley Road and sets up his Lidar unit. He is almost completly obscured by trees and shrubbery. The posted speed limit is 35 mph but most drivers do 45 to 50. There are no residences and only a few businesses along this road as it is the rear border for the Willow Grove Naval Air Station. This particular trap irks me most because it is simply a revenue raising device for the township and is totally without merit so far as traffic safety is concerned.
Herman Road near Water Tower
After a fatal accident on Herman rd with a car going 100mph the speed limit went from 35mph to 25mph, doesn’t make sense cause 35mph isnt 100mph..anyway this speed traps are between Norristown rd and Babylon rd and there are various spots officers sit. Police are always on Herman rd daily, so do not go above 30mph!
Dresher Road near Welsh Road
Speed traps are being set up on improved Dresher Road between Welsh Road & State Route 611.
Chestnut Lane near County Line Road
The speed trap is located on Chestnut Lane between County Line Road and Limekiln Pike. One Officer will be sitting in one of the four(4) driveways on the right side (If coming from Limekiln Pike), and two other Officers will be pulling cars over at the T shaped intersection of County Line Rd. and Chestnut Lane.
