Horsham, Pennsylvania Speed Traps
Lower State Road near Horsham Road
Have observed during morning and late evening rush, occasionally there will be a township police car parked on the private driveway of a home on the East side of Lower State Rd. Lower State is roughly in the direction of SW to NE. The police will be on the Right (Easterly) side. The location is SW of the (golf) driving range and just NE the High Tension lines that cross the street. The driveway is surrounded by trees.
County Line Road near State Route 611
At Route 611 and County Line Road there is a school, thus as I found out a school zone. When you turn onto County Line road from North Bound 611, at 800am, in the morning, you can see the school Zone light flashing 15 mph. Normal speed limit 40mph. I was doing the same speed as all the other traffic.
OK, But this time of the year the Sun is at the same angle as the school zone 15mph light which is very high up, and one cannot see the sign with all the glare from the Sun while making the turn. The police wait in a driveway and literally "rob" unsuspecting motorists going by. For 39mph I got a $164, thats theFort There wasn’t one student, or parent, etc, in sight so no indication this was anything but a road. I did not know there was a school there period and would never speed in a school zone , I swear. Was on my way to a funeral, but the officer could care less.
In addition, surrounding this area is the US Air Base. The Horsham police seem to enjoy pulling over the military personnel from the base, witnessed this many times.
Witmer Road near Intersection of Country Road
Use of Enradd system on Witmer Road between Dresher and Norriston Roads. Mobile sensors are placed on opposite sides of the road at the intersection of Country Road. An dark-blue Ford Taurus unmarked police vehicle equipped with sensor will radio vehicle information ahead to 1 to 3 chase vehicles about a mile down the road. Traffic citations are issued continuously.
Meetinghouse Road near Easton Road
Trap is between County Line Rd. and Easton Rd on Meetinghouse Rd. Using ENRADD, multiple officers circling area in response to ENRADD time
Keith Valley Road between County Line Rd. and Horsham Road (PA 463), hidden driveway diagonally across road from runway lightstands at the airbase.
This is Horshm Twp.’s new fling with an ENRADD device. One (unmarked, dark-colored) township police car sits in the driveway with the device while 1 to 3 chase cars circulate and snare anyone tagged out by the ENRADD device. The road is a 2-lane straightaway with few buildings or other access on this stretch, but posted at 35, which is too slow for conditions. Check Google for "ENRADD" –it’s an eye-opener, and it works.
