Lehigh, Pennsylvania Speed Traps
Route 100 Bypass near Rt. 100 Bypass
Unmarked police car sits on the south bound lane of route 100 on the Trexlertown Bypass under a bridge and uses the timing device and alerts 2 regular police car that are positioned about a 1/4 mile away from unmarked car about the on coming speeding vehicle . All police vehicles are situated curve and hidden until it is too late to slow down. The speed limit is 45MPH and they will ticket you any thing over 52MPH.
Interstate 78 near State Route 22
State troopers frequently fly over I-78 between PA-100 and PA-309 I am an air traffic controller in the Lehigh Valley.
476N Turnpike near 476N Expressway
There are several speedtraps run on the Northbound NE Extension of 476. The first is between the mid-county exchange and Lansdale. There are a few overpasses they like to hang out just after the bridges.
Another is right at the Quakertown exchange plaza. They will sit in the parking lot.
A third is between Quakerown and Allentown. The best reference location I can give is this:
after Qtown, there is a long hill, as you reach the top, the road will make a long bend to the left, then start turning right. As you come around that right bend, there is an access ramp State Troopers like to sit on.
State Route 145 N near After traffic light north of Treichlers Bridge
About half a mile after a 40 mph sign traffic crosses a 4 lane bridge (2 lanes in each direction), 40 mph posted, then a stop light. After the stop light, road narrows to 2 lanes just before a 55 mph sign. Officer waits just before speed limit increase and sites drivers for over 40 mph speed limit.
Indian Trail Park/ Rt. 248
Police sit next to the old Pennsville Lodge. They sit back pretty far and just wait. Traffic coming from Cherryville is most suspetable, since you are coming from around a bend.
