New Castle, Pennsylvania Speed Traps
Rt. 388 at St. Phillips cemetery
State police, or the township police, will sit in the exit road from the cemetery and watch the traffic on Rt. 388. Have seen them often!
Rt 60 (376) North bound Just before the toll plaza
State Police pull into highway service lane just before the toll plaza to totally hide the police cruiser, speed drops from 65 to 55, he stands on the side of the road with radar gun and directs people to the side of the road by stepping in front of them.
East Bound on SR 422 Near Route 60 Overpass
The State Police usually sit up on the exit ramp from route 60 to catch unsuspecting drivers heading in towards town on Rt 422. The speed limit is 55 mph at this point on the four lane divided hiway, and the temptation is to exceed that limit as the area is rural and unpopulated. The State Police also occasionally sit just off route 422 on Rapson St., a little further east bound.
Pulaski Road near Maitland Lane
Officer sits on Honeybee Lane (by the church). He is hidden behind a row of pine trees. The speed limit drops in that areas from 45mph to 35 mph, then it goes back up to 45 mph…so its a normal trap. I got caught there at 6:30 am one morning on the way to work…I’ve seen them sitting there alot since then…If it’s not Honeybee Lane then it one of the next two…before Maitland Lane.
