Northampton, Pennsylvania Speed Traps
Kreidersville Road from Stone UCC church to Howertown Rd
State cops have had this speed trap set up for over 10 years. They will randomly appear move, occasionally use the church cemetery to train rookie cops, use Covered Bridge road and going all the way into Northampton. The speed limit is 40 mph but don’t be surprised if you are pulled over doing the speed limit or below, its happened to me. These State cops care only to make a quota, we follow the laws, but they don’t.
Bridgetown Pike Street near Drew Drive
Traveling on Bridgetown Pike approaching Rte. 413 at the intersection with Drew Dr. Northampton police sit on the right side of the shoulder at the bottom of the hill to trap motorists. Bridgetown pike only goes through Northampton for a short distance and it is posted at 35 mph while less than 1/4 mile away at the intersection of 413 and Bridgetown pike the posted limit jumps back up to 45. i.e. If you are traveling west on Bridgetown pike passing Core Creek Park there are signs posted at 45 mph then you cross the intersection at rte 413 and the speed limit is 35 mph although there is no sign for about 1/2 mile after the intersection. Police sit there and pull people over all the time for traveling 50 on what they believe is a 45 mph zone while actually the ticket is 50+ in a 35. Look out!
