Reading, Pennsylvania Speed Traps
222 North, Mohnton On Ramp
Mohnton Exit On Ramp going 222 North, cops sit there so often there are ruts in the grass. Local cops, timing lines painted on the road right after going under the exit bridge. Speed limit 55, they don’t normally stop for 65, but they will for 70 and above…
Rt. 422 right after the exit for I-176
I was caught right before entering Exeter. I didn’t really see him, but I believe the officer was hiding behind the overpass for the last exit before the expressway ends. The speed limit here is 55.
Rt 422 East and West at Neversink Road exits.
The Police park at the top of the ramps overlooking Rt 422 where it runs under Neversink Road in Exeter Township. They watch East and Westbound traffic at this location, but primarily Eastbound.
U.S. Hwy. 422 East in Exeter Township
Just past the new Walmart Supercenter the road drops into a “valley.” At the bottom of the “valley,” on the right, is a used car lot and it’s right around there that the Reading cops sit. Posted speed is 45, and everyone goes 60.
State Route 12 west near State Route 183 onramp
Going west on Rt 12 just past the Rt 183 exit and a car dealership there are lines painted just in front of a consulting business. The 45 MPH speed limit is noted on a downhill incline just before the Rt 183 overpass and onramp.
One car parks at the side of the business and times vehicles, then anywhere from 2 to 4 Reading marked vehicles are sitting on the Rt 422 onramp to pull over speeding vehicles.
