Scranton, Pennsylvania Speed Traps
McDade expressway
Scranton police and state police constantly in this area
Scott Road coming off Route 6 down the hill into Dick City
Either the 2 stop signs or enforcing the 25 mile speed limit. Hard to do coming down the hill to first of two stop signs.
I-81 North & South around mile 185
Northbound: After passing the River St. Exit and going underneath the River St and Moosic St bridges there is a rise in terrain to the left. Just beyond the hill is a turn-around where a State Trooper will sit. Sometimes he sits in an obvious place right near the highway but beware that there are tire tracks leading up the hill where they have been as well. From this vantage point they can see at least a half mile down the highway until it turns to the right.
Southbound: As the three lane part of the highway (past the Drinker street exit) makes its S-turns to the left and then right again, the hill is visible on the left directly across from the Central Scranton Expressway exit.
I-380 & I-81
There is a State Trooper, that sits right on the shoulder between I 380 and I 81. He has K Band so watch out. He sits there and wait for cars to tun the corner since he can not be seen around the corner.
