Washington, Pennsylvania Speed Traps

Trooper sits on edge of bridge embankment that goes over North Main Street. Going Northbound it is almost impossible to see this trooper until you are right on them. They sit about 1/2 mile from the Meadowlands Exit.

Sit on top of hill looking at 4 directions of traffic, can get you East, West, NOrth & South. Usually two together facing opposite directions

35 MPH speed limit in town. Hwy 18 transitions suddenly from urban to rural. Long distance between signs – out in the country still 35. One things that rural highway speed of 55. Rural highway later changes to 45 only. Several cruisers checking for traffic to Post Gazette Pavillion in Burgettstown.

Patrol man was partially hidden behind an overpass abutment, traffic was busy. Just coming out of WV where the posted speed was 70 mph on the same interstate, it was abruptly dropped in PA to 55 mph.
