Clover, South Carolina Speed Traps

After crossing the state line into SC, the speed limit is 45 mph. A few miles later, on a deserted country road, the speed limit increases to 50 mph. This is the beginning of the speed trap. When you see the speed limit increase to 50 mph, BEWARE. The town limit of Clover, SC is at or somewhere shortly after the increase in the speed limit to 50 mph, and the Clover, SC city police are exploiting the desolation to produce revenue. The police officer that ticketed me was quite pleased with himself for ticketing me, and arrogant during the process.

Going into Clover on Hwy 321 from NC, ther is a 45 mph sign goin up a steep hill.. Just as you top hill and start down hill on other side,before you can slow down, there is a 35 mph sign Clover cop sits on top of next hill and tickets anyone speeding by 35 mph sign. The 35 mph sign was about half a mile on toward Clover. The cop said they moved it so they could catch trucker speeding into Clover. However, A local truck was passing me going down the hill,but he stopped me for doing 40 in a 35 zone.

Speed limits drop sharply from 55mhp to 25mph in increments
of 10mpg without sufficient responce time and with no lienency. there is no heavy truck by-pass for this little town.
