Irmo, South Carolina Speed Traps

Irmo police are almost constantly on the prowl..They habitually hide in various parking lots along Hwy. 76 from I-26 to the Friarsgate shopping center area..This seems to be their preferred "trap" area..Avoid traveling through this area if possible, particularly alone and at night..57 MPH seems to be their standard "charge" for speeding, regardless of your actual speed..I suspect their using "decoys" as well..

These cops sit in some of the weirdest places. Next to the railroad tracks on Woodrow Street, in parking lots, in the middle of the road, and even in peoples front yards in neighborhoods.
