Kingstree, South Carolina Speed Traps
Hwy. 527 South
Departing Kingstree on Hwy. 527 Southbound, 3 tenths of a mile beyond the stop light as you head out of town on the 4 lanes, there is an abandoned manufacturing plant on the left just before a Funeral Home and just before the 4 lane turns into only two. The police will back their cruiser up into the hidden driveway of that old abandoned plant and clock people going both into town going too fast, and going out of town too fast. Speed limit is 35. Impossible to see him until its too late.

State Highway 527 near US Highway 52
Coming into town from the north on S C Highway 527, there is a reduction in the speed limit just south of the Presbyterian Church. This is a major route to the coast and a frequent source of speeding tickets for vacationers. Avoid this route if possible, if not, be aware of this speed trap.
