Lancaster, South Carolina Speed Traps
Intersection of Camp Drive and U.S. 521/SC 9 Bypass
Be careful driving toward Elgin area coming around the curve after posing the former World dealership. Lots of people speed up to 55 mph before rounding this curve, speed limit is 45. There are SCHP officers either sitting at the entrance to the new lcwsd office, or the off-ramp to SC 9 and Arch Street.
There ought to be a speed trap on Nichols rd
There needs to be speed limit sign(s) on Nichols rd between Arch St and Chesterfield ave. People speed up and down this road continously with no regard for the safety of the families and children that live on this road. I have even seen three school buses speeding down this road in the afternoons in excess of 40 to 50 mph. This is a road not a highway.
E.Arch St.{Hwy.9} City kittyess
1/2 miles east of bypass.Bottom of hill, inter.of Rock St.& Pardue ST. They set at bottom of hill and make up there on clocked speed as you pass cause you wantn’t get to see it cause they just happen to clear it when they got out,
Have been known to give out tickets after pulling over for emergence vehicle.
University Drive
Over 1/2 mile of downhill grade from the 4 way stop intersection to the bridge (end of city limits). 35 MPH speed limit. I can start at the top of the hill at 20 mph and, without touching the gas, be running 45 by the time I reach the bridge. They sit on the City of Lancaster side of the bridge.
Plantation Rd. at Meeting Street
Never go above posted limit of 35 from Creek Bridge to Meeting Street.
