Lugoff, South Carolina Speed Traps

Watch out for state troopers. My husband got pulled over by a trooper for no seat belt when the trooper was in the left hand four lane with grass divider. My husband was in far right lane with tinted windows, and had his seat belt on. The troopers are just making up stuff to pull people over. They will pull you over for 2 miles over the speed limit.

Watch your speed on 601 between I-20 and Hwy 1

State Troopers use unmarked cars (specifically a red camaro) to trap unwary out-of-state travelers. This stretch of highway is a 4 lane divided highway with no residences and very few businesses. The speed limit is set at 45, which is obviously lower than it needs to be based on the highway conditions, leading me to believe that it is used primarily as a revenue source for the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
