New Ellenton, South Carolina Speed Traps
US Highway 19
The stretch on 19 that comprises New Ellenton is roughly 5 miles long. The city makes the majority of it’s income from speeding fines. It is best to set your cruise for the exact speed limit or a mph or two under the speed limit. I have seen the town police pull 2 and 3 cars AT A TIME. It is realy ridiculous.
Old Whiskey Road near Smith Avenue
Going North on Old Whiskey Road they sit in front on the Masonic Lodge at Smith and Old Whiskey Road. They also sit 3/4 miles North of this location on the right side near The Infield Bar and Grill.
White Pond Road near US Highway 19 South
The New Ellenton police patrol this road for Aiken County and the State of SC. It is NOT in the city limits of New Ellenton, but they have been given jurisdiction. They hide at the intersetion of the new sub-division The Paddocks and you can not see they until it is too late. Watch out.
Route 19 South (Whiskey Road)
Speeding tickets are a major source of revenue for this very small city. Motorists should be aware of sudden decrease in speed limit as they enter the city as the police are immediately waiting for unwary speeders who may miss the one sign stating the speed limit of 35 mph upon entering the city.
