North Charleston, South Carolina Speed Traps
State Highway 52 Overpass
Motorcycle cop sits under an over pass just after going over 52 heading towards Summerville.
Highway 52 just after leaving Goose Creeek
Highway is generally 45mph until reciently a small stretch of about a half mile has been changed to 35 with no warning of change the sign is very easy to miss and there are police there 75% off the time sitting next to the 45 sign.
Dorchester Road and Constitution Ave (Waylon area)
The North Charlesaton Police and the Charleston County Sheriffs Dept just hang around and get anyone going over 35 MPH in an area that is wide open four lane avenue with no traffic of obstruction at that time of night a speed limit of 45 would be close to fair. There is plenty of crime in the area but the revenue from people traveling through is a big money maker for Charleston County and the City of North Charlesaton.
Entire City
Recent article in the Charleston newspaper describes how the city of North Charleston (which has irregular borders) has dramatically increased its tickets over the last year. Maybe something to do with some unwise development issues?? Aggressive law enforcment including frequent roadblocks. In-state out of state, doesn’t matter, be careful.
