As soon as you leave the business district traveling west, Police will be monitoring speed with 1 or more cars (marked or unmarked) sitting in the median, often between hills where you can’t see them until you get there.
The speed limit is low, given that this is a four-lane divided road with a landscaped median. This is a speed trap until you reach Powell Mill Road and the area becomes heavily commercial again.

East Main Street, from Pine Street through downtown
When you cross Pine Street intersection going toward downtown, speed limit is 25 miles per hour. City police sit in First Baptist parking lot. Once you reach downtown, speed limit is 15 miles per hour.
E Daniel Morgan Ave
Police sit across from Vic Bailey Imports facing Pine St and catch speeders coming down E Daniel Morgan Ave from Church St. They also like to sit in the parking lot of the old bus station above Vic Bailey Imports and catch speeders going up and down E Daniel Morgan Ave
Anderson Mill Road
Police sit at the fire department on Anderson Mill Road. The speed limit is 35 there, but it used to be 45. Just below the fire department, the speed limit changes to 45 MPH (right in front of Anderson Mill Road Baptist Church.)
Highway patrol officers catch both directions because they cannot be seen until you are right in front of them.
