Wellford, South Carolina Speed Traps

The entire area of Wellford is a speed trap. The mayor is the second highest paid mayor in the state. and one of the smallest towns, they even write tickets on I- 85, how do they get all this money? you guessed it.

City police patrol this area heavily. Speed limit drops from 55 to 45 rather quickly. As soon as you exit the Wellford city limits, you enter the Lyman city limits. Same scenerio. Both are small cities hungry for revenue.

Area of speed trap has no speed limit sign in one direction of travel yet tickets are still issued.
